Reminder why the American West is the single coolest and most unique geological point on Mother Earth.


That is my humble opinion. I have been many places and watched much Discovery Channel, but there is nothing that affects me like the American West. There is a sense of scale here that sends an immediate rush of both humility and awe over one's nothingness in a place. It's like seeing the stars at night, but even more immediate--more tangible--more fathomable.

I personally can fathom a rock faster than a star.

So here it is. I haven't felt such a jolt since the Redwoods. I have included myself in two for scale, so that you can appreciate the size-mology of it all.

What a brilliant place. I can't wait---can't WAIT to get back.
