For some weeks now, my dear friend Abby Judith McCarthy has been taking a little hike—a little, two thousand one hundred and seventy-five mile hike: Taking 6 months out of her life to through-hike the Appalachian Trail.
Having read A Walk In The Woods a few times—and enjoying it more with each reading—I've learned enough to know that the AT is nothing to mess with, and that anyone who actually hikes the whole thing is worthy of your utmost envy and respect.
So, on this most random of nights, I am thinking of you, Judith, and am inviting everyone to have a look at her diary—her trail log, complete with visuals of her experience—HERE.

May your blisters heal quickly; may your food trick your taste buds; may your camera never break; and may your adventure shape you like water to the mountain: slowly, but surely.
One step at a time, you little Hobbit.
