Total the hours up, and it's a week's work.
5:30 AM Call Time, and 4 times at that. What a sport, Jennifer.
I've created a short. It's a homage to my home. I wanted to add narrative to it, so I conceptualized a simple story and collaborated with Jennifer Rogers—the ideal casting.
The Sonoran Desert is like nothing on earth. Of the area where this film is made, President Roosevelt himself said:
"The Apache Trail combines the grandeur of the Alps, the glory of the Rockies, the magnificence of the Grand Canyon and then adds an indefinable something that none of the others have. To me, it is the most awe-inspiring and most sublimely beautiful panorama nature has ever created."
And he should know. I feel the same way. But it's also about the details, that are just as wondrous and grand—which I think my film shows.
(Note: Make sure "HD" is on, and it's best to pause it while it loads so it doesn't "jump" while you're watching)
Here's the link, and I hope you enjoy it. These were some of the better mornings I've had:
SUNRISE RUN.

Great job. Simply beautiful and breath taking!
THAT...made me feel good this morning! What a beautiful job, it's cool to experience another part of our world through such a intricate medium. I'm sharing it...
Thanks Wes. I love to see the shots you are getting off with this camera. Simply stunning. I must say though, my favorite shots in the piece were the stark contrast pre-sunrise.
Absolutely fantastic, Wes.
Aw man, you're really making me miss AZ. I love desert running pre dawn and you've eloquently captured it.
Nice job! That was beautiful. And I loved the advice to pause it while it loads to avoid jumping. I hate when a video does that and I didn't know I could control it! Yeah!
P.S. Came by way of your cute wife!
